Testimonies
My name is Emanuel Damacus.  I am the Founder and President of Revive me, O Lord Ministries Inc.  I was
born on July 23, 1970 in a city called Arad, on
the Western side of Romania.  I am the youngest of four.  My brother John is the first born to my parents, then
my sister Cornelia, Angela, and 14 years later myself.
My mother Floare Damacus was 43 years old, and my father Mihai Damacus was 47 at my birth.  As they said, I
was an accident.
During pregnancy, the doctors advised my parents to abort due to my mother’s health complications.  Therefore,
plans were made for an abortion.
The night before the procedure, my father had a dream.  In this dream he was climbing a ladder with a little coffin
on his shoulder.  As he got to the last step, he dropped the coffin.  When the coffin reached the ground, it
opened and inside, was a little boy with a bracelet on his wrist.  Engraved on the bracelet was the name
Emanuel, which translated from Hebrew, means God with us.
My father woke up immediately, and convinced my mother not to abort.  Due to their decision not to terminate the
pregnancy I am here today.  As you can tell, they decided to name me Emanuel.  The communist government
imprisoned my father for a year sometimes in the late 40’s because of his Christian beliefs.  While incarcerated
he made a promise to the Lord.  He promised that if he would get out alive he would serve the Lord for the rest of
his life.  And so he did.  He was obedient to this dream, or heavenly vision and he did not doubt it.  He trusted
God with my mother’s health, which was not compromised by my birth.
It was a blessing to be born into a Christian family.  Good Christian values were instilled in me from a very young
age.  Growing up I was very involved in the church.  I was part of the youth group, then the choir and the band.
I heard many sermons and at the age of 16, I decided to accept the Lord as my personal Savior, and I got
baptized.
As I grew older, I realized that my conversion at the age of 16 was not real.  I made a public profession of my
faith because most of my friends did it, and I did not want to be left out.  I really did not understand the message
of the gospel.  My life did not change.  I did not practice righteousness. Jesus said, “Go and sin no more”.  Even
as a teenager I continued to live a life of sin.  However, I knew how to say and do all the right things that
Christians do around other Christians.
Sometimes in 1981 my brother and sister Angela defected from Romania.  They were held in Italy at a political
asylum camp for about six months.  At the end of six months United States granted them permission to enter the
country.  Therefore, they came and settled in Houston, Texas.
In 1984 my other sister Cornelia defected from Romania.  She swam the Danube River into the former
Yugoslavia.  Then, she walked seven days, all the way to Italy, where she obtained political asylum as well.  The
United States offered her permanent residency.  When she arrived in Houston, she immediately began a
campaign to bring my parents and I to the United States.  After a long battle with the Romanian government, we
obtain permission to leave the country.  My parents and I were reunited with the rest of the family in the spring of
1987.
I did not speak English at the time of my arrival to the United States.  However, within six months I was able to
keep a conversation in English.  Few years later I would learn Spanish too.
I attended school and became more and more Americanized.  I also, departed from the Lord, and came to a point
where God would never cross my mind.  I pursued, tasted, and enjoyed all the goods and desires of my heart.  I
held some highly esteemed positions in my professional career, traveled the world and enjoyed life without fear
of God.
In November of 2000 I have met my dear sweet wife Julia.
We both worked for the same company in Houston but at different locations.  I have found out that she was also
from Romania.  We became inseparable since that day.  Sometimes in September of 2001 we moved to Dallas,
Texas.  The company that I was working for had a great position for me there.  My father became very ill and in
February of 2002 we decided to bring my parents to live with us.
On March 22nd, 2002 my father went to be with the Lord.  He passed away at our dining room table while I was
wiping his mouth, looking straight into my eyes.  I have loved my father very much and his passing into eternity
made me think about life, and God our Creator.  It made me realize that all my father’s possessions,
accomplishments etc, did not matter.  He could not and did not take anything with him.  The only thing that
mattered was his relationship with God.  He died very peaceful in the hands of someone he loved. Thoughts of
God, and things that I have learned while I was young, came flooding into my mind.  A statement I heard once “A
changed life testifies to your salvation” haunted me.  My parents’ lives were changed but not mine.  I continued
to live without fear of God.  I asked my sister Cornelia to move in with us so she could take care of my mother 24
hrs a day due to her health condition.

On March 16th, 2003 Julia and I decided to make it official and we got married.
We enjoyed life and traveled to many foreign destinations.  God was nowhere in our lives.  We had a nice
relationship and were never tested by life’s difficulties.

In March of 2004, I have lost my job and financial difficulties crept in.  Being faced with extreme difficulties, I
turned to God, and surrendered my life to Him.  I realized that I was a sinner and had no fear of God.  I realized
that without Him I was lost.  I decided to follow God and His leadership at any cost.  The beautiful thing was that
my wife noticed the changes in my life and she too gave her life to Christ.  It was like we were two new persons.
We started to communicate and we found out so many things about each other that we never knew.  We grew
closer and closer to each other and to the Lord.  On July 9th, 2004 when my wife accepted the Lord she ran to
my mother’s room and shared it with her.  My mother was so happy, that she clapped her hands and then she
said “My job here on earth is finished” and she hugged my wife.

On September 4th, 2004 my mother went home to be with the Lord.  She, like King David, served the Lord in her
generation.  The next day my wife and I were baptized.  This time our lives did change and now they testify to
our salvation.
Things were going great.  September 29th, 2004 as we were watching TV, I felt a touch in my spirit and I got up
and went to the bedroom.  I fell on my knees and began to pray.  While in prayer I heard a question.  “Are you
willing to serve Me?”  I answered, “Yes Lord yes”.  Then the same voice asked “Are you willing to make a
contract with Me and put it on paper?” Again I answered, “Yes Lord yes”.  I got up and went to my office and
grabbed a paper from the printer and I started to write my covenant with God.
A month later on October 27th, 2004 we found out that we are pregnant.  Calculating back the days, I realized
that we conceived two days after I signed the covenant.
For years, a famous fertility specialist Dr. Larry Lipschultz, with Baylor College of Medicine, has told me that I
have a very slim (1% or 2%) chance to have children.  Well in the book of Romans 4:17b we read:

“God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did”

Things that did not exist for me, God now made them real for my family.
Psalm 127:3 states:

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward”

REWARD?
Hebrews 11:6 reads:

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is
a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”

WOW! I was being rewarded just because I diligently looked for Him.  This promise is true to all who seek after
God.  Try Him.

This story does not stop here.  It begins here.  Seeing so many supernatural things that God worked, and is
working in my life I decided to serve God full time.  And so, this ministry was born.  I noticed that the Lord gifted
me with the gift of Evangelism.  I teach and preach the good news about Jesus at every opportunity.  I see that if
I am willing, God provides the Divine Appointments.

My work as a servant of the Most High God, has taken me to work with former and current inmates in the prison
system.  I provide counseling, spiritual leadership; help with life skills, finding jobs and locating bible-teaching
churches for them.  However, it seems that the Lord is leading my ministry in opening a bible teaching church in
the near future.

Seeing God at work, changing lives, healing the sick, delivering people from addictions and bringing peace to
tormented souls is worth far more than any other job the world could offer me.
We are here for the lost, the sick, the prisoners, and the destitute.   Jesus came to save those who are lost and
just as 2 Timothy 2:4 reads:

“ Who (God) desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

This is my heart’s desire too.
